A Vietnam e-visa is accepted at 83 international airports, land borders and seaports since December 2025. Here are the ones travellers actually use, and what to know about each kind.

An e-visa is not valid everywhere along Vietnam's borders - only at the entry points the government has designated. Until late 2025 there were 42. Resolution 389/NQ-CP of 2 December 2025 added 41 more, bringing the total to 83.

The additions were mostly smaller land crossings and regional ports. The list below is the core that covers nearly every traveller.

Which port do I put on the application?

The e-visa form asks for the entry point you intend to use. Give the one where you will first arrive in Vietnam - for a flight with a domestic connection, that is the airport where you clear immigration, not your final destination.

    What if my plans change?

An issued e-visa is valid at every designated entry point, and travellers who end up arriving somewhere other than the port on their application are generally admitted. Two cautions:

    • If the change happens before the visa is issued, tell us and we will lodge it with the right port.
    • If you are switching between an airport and a land border, carry a printed copy and allow extra time. Land-border officers see fewer e-visas and check them more slowly.

    Cruise passengers

Check your itinerary port by port. If the ship visits two Vietnamese ports with a foreign port between them, you leave Vietnam and come back - so you need a multiple-entry e-visa. If the Vietnamese stops are consecutive, a single-entry visa covers them.

Some cruise terminals sit beside, rather than inside, a designated port. Your cruise line will know which port its calls are cleared through; ask before you apply.

    Not on the list?

A visa on arrival does not help here - it only works at airports. If your route uses a crossing that is not designated for e-visas, you need a visa issued by a Vietnamese embassy or consulate. Message us with your route and we will tell you whether your crossing is covered.
